On Saturday, August 7th from 9-11am we will welcome Katie with an old fashioned “pounding”. Giving a pounding is an old-fashioned way to help someone by stocking their pantry with non-perishables foods, cleaning supplies, and paper products. The original term is believed to be Quaker and came from the fact that staple items were sold by the pound in the local General Stores. I love how this idea is practical, fun, creative and most importantly demonstrates the kindness and love that permeates the Hope Fellowship Women.
What to bring: brunch dish to share & non-perishabel food item or any other essential pantry item you can think of. (Need ideas? white sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, vinegar, condiments, marinades and spices, boxed pasta, vegetable oil, olive oil, pancake mix, canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, dishwasher detergent, toilet bowl cleaner, shower cleaner, paper towels, paper plates, toilet paper, toilet tissue, even light bulbs … oh the list is endless.)
We will have Katie share her story and enjoy a time of great fellowship and reconnection.
Childcare will be provided!
