People of Hope!

I was reflecting on a story I heard from someone who used to work as a professional chef. As he worked at a high-end restaurant under a head chef, they were in the kitchen when one of the waiters brought back a steak that a customer sent back to be cooked some more. When the head chef caught wind of it he flew into a rage uttering “what the…...!!”, grabbed the steak off the plate, threw it on the floor, stomped on it, put it back on the plate and had the waiter bring it out to the table. Evidently the customers were satisfied and proceeded to eat their carefully prepared meal. Through the years I’m sure you’ve often been “happily ignorant” in various situations you’ve faced. Often God protects us from hidden things we aren’t aware of. I love what Moses told the Israelites in Deuteronomy 1:30-31 “The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” Even though there’s danger and pain in the process, God ultimately brings you where He wants you. For those who have trusted Jesus, He will carry us all the way to heaven. In the meantime, look for footprints on your steak!!

SUNDAY
“Fool Proofing Your Marriage” is the title of the message this week. Whether you’re married or not, every person needs to be familiar with God’s perspective of marriage and how He designed it to work.

WORK DAY – Saturday
This Saturday, rain or shine, a work day will happen here starting at 9:00am and ending around 11:00am. Many different projects will be ready for you. One of the major projects is pulling weeds and blackberry stocks that have taken over the landscaping.  We need people to bring heavy gloves, shovels, rakes, and clippers.  If you can bring a wheelbarrow, it may be needed.

HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH - GLOW GAMES - Saturday
Sounds like some fun happening this Saturday at the church building with the high school group! From 6:00-8:00 “glow games” will be going on. Bring friends and prepare for screaming fun.

SMALL GROUPS – Starting now
A small group is a place to make friends, learn from the bible and support others as you meet in someone’s home. Many of our groups are starting up now so it would be a great time to get connected. Contact Jeff if you’d like to be part of one of these small communities; jeffsmith@hope-fellowship.net

See you soon!
