November 2, 2017

Hey people of Hope,
Since halloween was yesterday, I was recently reminded of a man in the church I pastored in Texas.  He came to the church building to help with an outreach carnival we had for kids on halloween and said with a serious look, “I was out doing the Lord’s work tonight on my way over here.” Out of curiosity I said, “Oh yeah? What was it?” He said, “Oh, I saw several demons trying to run across the street so I hit the gas and chased them with my car.” I wish it was that easy to recognize the work of demons don’t you? We’re told to beware of them in Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” They’re invisible to us but we can recognize their work when we understand their primary goal. They want to separate you from weekly public worship, God’s Word, God’s people and a close fellowship between you and God as you live your daily life. If you’re avoiding these things, they’ve done their wicked work even if you are deceived enough to think everything is ok. They’re blasphemers and they want you to do the same as you ignore God’s priorities in your life.

Ladies! The annual holiday craft themed Mug & Muffin is Saturday at 9:30 am. This is a great time of fellowship and laughter …. and would be a great opportunity to invite a friend or two who is unsure about "church stuff". The cost will be $5 and free to first time guests. Please bring a brunch dish and some juice to share. Childcare is included. Questions? Contact Leslie at
Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour Saturday night or you’ll show up to church early and I’ll have to give you a kazoo so you can practice with the children’s worship team.

There is a need for crayons and bar soap if you’d like to bring some and drop it in the collection box near the information table in the lobby before the 11th.
Community box collection help:
Our church is a community collection station for Operation Christmas Child. If you’d like to interact with our community as you receive boxes here, sign up for a time slot at this site; . Amy will be in touch to give you some direction.
See you soon,
