Hey Hope people!
I recently did something with fear and trembling…..I fertilized my lawn. I set into motion something that will significantly affect my life in the near future as three things will happen: 1) My lawn will get much greener and thus please my eyes as I take in the stunning green beauty of a vibrant lawn; 2) The lawn will experience volcanic growth thus increasing the frequency of mowing thereby adding more stress to my life; 3) The mowed grass will overwhelm my compost bins and I’ll be forced to sneak around at night and dump cuttings in my neighbors yards. Have you ever considered how God fertilizes your life? It seems similar to how a lawn is fertilized…..I always spread fertilizer before a rain, and the rain takes it down to the roots. The Word of God is the fertilizer and it needs to sink to the roots of where decisions are made in your life. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:16) How does this happen? By taking the time to understand God’s Word and then thinking about what you’ll do with the truth you understand. Growth happens when, “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:1-2) When you “meditate” on God’s Word, you think about how you can live out what God says ……if you read the rest of the Psalm, you’ll notice explosive growth takes place. Make sure you’re always fertilizing your life…..

I’m pleased to let you know Elliot has been offered the Pastor of Youth and Young Adults position and he has accepted it. He will be arriving near the end of June. Thanks for behaving yourselves while he was here last weekend.
