People of Hope!
Leslie and I spent a little time in the Yakima area earlier this week. We watched The Incredibles 2 in a theater that served dinner as you watched the movie….how incredible is that!? A waiter came to our theater chairs and we ordered, ate and paid for the food without missing a scene. We love convenience don’t we? Man if something could be easier for me, I take that option. The only problem is that sometimes God asks us to do things that aren’t convenient. In fact, the lifestyle adjustments He calls us to sometimes feel like death. Jesus said, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23) Whether it’s the baby steps level commitment of attending a worship service once a week or the higher level commitment of volunteering for regular service in the children’s ministry….it’s an inconvenience. Inconvenience sometimes involves choosing better friends or adjusting patterns of behavior that are unholy.  At any rate, the bottom line is simply this, if Jesus is your Lord, your personal comfort will be interrupted……and that’s inconvenient……and incredible.
I’ll resume the current series in the book of Ephesians with a message titled “Believer’s Benefits”
Men, come out for a 3 course breakfast this Saturday. The first course is you grabbing coffee, the second course is you piling up your plate with serious breakfast cuisine and the third course is you going back for seconds. I don’t believe you’ll want to miss the God-story you’ll hear from a guy here at Hope. Starts at 8:00 and ends by 9:00. These breakfasts are great to invite a friend to.
DOOR HANGERS – Saturday
If you’d like to help pass out some door hangers in surrounding neighborhoods we’ll be leaving at 9:15 am from the church building on Saturday, June 23rd. These will be friendly invitations to come to our pig roast on July 1st and to sign up their kids for the Kidz Summer Camp. Let Jeff know you’ll be there; jeffsmith@hope-fellowship.net
Our new Youth Pastor Elliott and his wife Nicole are moving into their residence this Saturday. If you’d like to help the Fultons unload their U-Haul show up at 6:30, 17126 SE 269th Pl, Covington, WA 98042 apt C202. By the way, they’re looking for a couch if you have a spare.
BAPTISMS – Sunday
We’ll have baptisms this Sunday during the 2nd service. Baptisms are a great time to support those stepping forward to profess their faith in Jesus.
YOUTH GAME NIGHT – Hang out with Elliott next Wednesday

For middle and high school youth - there’s a great opportunity to hang out and get to know our new youth pastor, Elliott Fulton, on Wednesday, June 27th at 7:00 pm here at the church. Please pass on the word.
PIG ROAST – July 1st
Make plans to hang out after the 2nd service on July 1st for a lot of great food and general fun….and definitely invite folks you’re reaching out to.  A whole pig will be roasted overnight, but we need no to bring either a dessert or side dish to share. There will also be a fast food line (hot dogs). You’ll be able to sit under a huge tent while the blowup slide and bouncy house are available for the kids.  The candy cannon will be firing candy and I will compete in a pie eating contest (which will be no contest if it’s cherry pie). Your friends will love the experience.
Now that I have your attention, would you be able to help weed the property before the July 1st Pig Roast? I’d also like to thank those folks who have faithfully weeded some of the plant beds so far. Contact Jeff and he’ll point you to the needy areas;  jeffsmith@hope-fellowship.net
We’ll have registration forms for you in the bulletins this Sunday if you want to register your kids. They need to be registered by June 29th to be guaranteed a T-Shirt.  You can also use the following link to register; https://hopefellowship.breezechms.com/form/KSC2018
See you Sunday!
