Hey people of Hope,

I’m on a train heading to Portland as I write this. Wow! I can’t believe how relaxing this is…..no traffic jams, no one cutting me off, no fear of falling asleep. Someone else is doing the driving and I’m not even car sick…..yet. Have you ever had an unusual sense that there’s a guiding force behind the scenes of your life, taking you toward a specific destination? If you have a relationship with God through Jesus, that’s exactly what’s happening in your life. There may be times when you don’t understand or resist the direction He may be taking you and it feels like He’s abandoned you. “When my heart was grieved, and my spirit embittered, I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you.” (Ps 73:21–22)    But there are also times when you’re cooperating with Him and it seems like He’s doing the driving…even in the midst of terrible pain. “Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.” (Psalm 73:23-24) My advice, always turn to God, seek His leading and relax more in His sovereign care.

VALENTINES BANQUET – February 10th
Our annual Valentines banquet will take place on February 10th at 6:30 here in our auditorium. The right mood, the right food, some laughs and an experienced special guest speaker in the Northwest region, Randy Adams. His message will bring special encouragement to your relationship. Mark your card Sunday if you’re interested.

FRANK TUREK – February 24 & 25
Many people around us think it’s unreasonable or even “unscientific” to be a person of faith when the opposite is true. We have a rare opportunity to think through how reasonable our faith is and invite those questioning or skeptical family and friends to join us. Also, don’t hesitate to invite that arrogant know-it-all friend to ask Frank their questions during the Q&A time, he loves to field questions like that. By the way, this event isn’t for arrogant believers outside of our church who want to publicly challenge Frank on something they disagree with – that will only serve to leave a terrible impression on the unbelievers we’re hoping to reach out to.  For planning purposes use the following link to sign up for the Saturday night seminar on February 24th (https://hopefellowship.breezechms.com/form/ceccf6 ) childcare will be provided for that. Frank will also be delivering the messages on Sunday the 25th.

ADVENTURE CAMP (VBS) – July 16-20

We’ll be planning a Kids Adventure Camp again this year again with a new theme. Keep July 16-20 open so you can volunteer to help. Last year’s event worked so well on our own site with a number of unchurched families reached so please be in prayer for God to use it.

BAPTISMS
There will be an opportunity for baptism on January 28th. If you haven’t been baptized yet as a believer keep the following in mind:
1) Baptism is a command for believers
2) Baptism is immersion in water
3) Baptism is for believers not babies
Please contact me with any questions you might have and if you need to be baptized lets do it. If you’d like to listen to a full message on baptism follow this link: http://www.hope-fellowship.net/2017-sermon-video.html?sapurl=LysyNzEyL2xiL21pLys0d2g1YWRlP2JyYW5kaW5nPXRydWUmZW1iZWQ9dHJ1ZQ==
