Hey Hope people!
When our youngest daughter Hannah was at home Leslie and I would often comment that we had a personal fashion consultant. Sometimes I would try to make it out of the house wearing an atrociously mismatched set of clothes, but before I could escape, an alarm would go off – the raised voice of Hannah. The fashion police would arrive on the scene to make a citizen’s arrest, “Dad! You’re kidding me! Right!!?” Caught in the headlights I would begin my defense, “Uhhhh…”. The officer would respond, “No!” At this point I would adamantly push back (in vain)…. “I think it looks cool, and I’m wearing it!!” As I would reach for the door knob to leave, the hand of the law would quickly be placed on my shoulder spinning me around, and I would look into the eyes of the angry officer who would say, “No, you are not!” - pointing upstairs. I would finally cave in, trudging off to find something that passed inspection. Do you appreciate the special talents of those around you? As the apostle Paul described the diversity of believers wrote; “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.” (2 Corinthians 12:12) There are many different types of people with different gifts, talents, personalities passions and styles all around you in the family of God – the body of Jesus. Those differences are what bring to life what God wants as we work together. How do you respond to the uniqueness of others?

MISSION HANNAH UPDATE
You may be aware that our daughter Hannah was sent to Nepal from Hope last year for at least a two-year stay. She has adjusted wonderfully. Currently she is in a very remote area and will return to Kathmandu soon. The trip to her current location took almost 48 hours by bus, jeep and backpack. I believe she would appreciate prayer for part of her return trip to involve an airplane. You can find one of her prayer cards at the information desk if you’d like to pray for her on a regular basis.
See you soon,
