Hey people of Hope!
In one of the marathons I ran last year there were some places where you needed to keep your eyes open for course markings, otherwise you could get lost running down a trail off the course. As a matter of fact, there was a section where 3 or four of us were running in a small pack when the guy out front kept going straight when he should’ve turned. We yelled after him……by the surprised look on his face we probably could’ve kept running and snickered all the way to the finish.  Have you ever seen someone run off God’s course? I’ve had experiences where I’ve yelled after people heading off God’s clearly marked course and they’ve yelled back as though they were heading down the right trail and I was trying to do them harm. On one occasion, Paul sadly identifies someone who left the course, “Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica.” (2 Timothy 4:10) We find in Hebrews a powerful statement, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” (Hebrews 12:1) Stay on the course and pay attention to anyone who may be calling after you to adjust your direction .
