People of Hope!
I did something I’ve never done before. On a longer run this past week it became clear to me that I wouldn’t make it home before the wonderful natural process of digestion reached the final stage. My concern increased with every jarring stride until I knew the bay doors needed to be opened on the B-59. Fortunately, I was near a remote patch of woods. I waited for traffic to clear and made a mad dash far enough in to hide the naked truth. As I reflect…. the timing of passing that patch of woods couldn’t have been better! Have you ever marveled at the timing of provision at some of the critical moments of your life? King David was flabbergasted at the knowledge, provision and protection of God in his life, “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” (Ps 139:7–10)
Over the years I think I’ve learned to relax more in God’s encompassing care for me.…even in the lowliest functions of my life.
A few special things regarding Hope Youth:
   1) YOUTH OVERNIGHT AND LASER QUEST – This Tuesday-Wednesday
Hang out at Laser Quest and spend the night in the church. Bring $25, a permission slip and a friend.
Starting the week of September 10th our youth will expand by having separate nights for middle school (7-8 grade) and high school (9-12 grade). Middle school will continue to meet at the normal time (6:30-8:30) on Wednesdays and high school will begin meeting from 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday evenings beginning on September 16th.
Starting Sunday September 16th, high school students will no longer have a separate Sunday School class during first service. Elliott’s desire is to help students become familiar with the bigger family of Hope as we worship together. Instead of having a high school exclusive time on Sunday mornings, that time will be in the evening during third service in the form of Youth Group. Contact Elliott with any questions;
Here at Hope, certain days are planed every year for us to set aside our food and possibly water to let Him know that we’re helpless to accomplish what He wants without His power at work here at Hope Fellowship. I’d like you to join me next Thursday on August 30th here at 6:30 for such a time together. We’ll sing, praise Him and pray as we call on God together. Child care will be available.
MEN’S BEAST FEAST & CAR SHOW – September 8th
This would be a great event to invite a friend to…..various kinds of meat and cool cars. If you or a friend have a car you’re willing to show, contact Jeff; Tickets are on sale now for $10 at the information table or on the website to cover the event.
