Hey Hope people!
I may not have mentioned this yet but our oldest daughter Abbey and her husband Josiah will be taking a position at a Christian school for missionary kids in Taiwan and they’ll be leaving in July. There is great joy in our hearts as we consider what they’re choosing to do, especially since we’ll be comforted by our four-legged, hairy grandson who will be living with us upon their departure. Yes, our children have been replaced by a dog and a cat! We’ll gladly take the dog and cat if it means our kids have a vision to serve Jesus wherever He leads. Have you noticed how life seems to have different seasons? Losses are faced, moves are made, relationships change, and adjustments need to be made as new patterns of living are established.  How do you roll with the different seasons of your life? Jesus said something interesting, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17) One of the mind-blowing things about our personal relationship with God is that He chooses to live in us through His Spirit no matter where we go or no matter what happens. The word Counselor in the passage is the translation of the Greek word “paraclete”, literally “called alongside”. God is called alongside of you….a counselor who never leaves your side. We get the added bonus of a dog and cat too.
Your prayers for our youth pastor search have led us to a young man and his wife who will visit us on May 6th to see if can hang with the likes of you folk so please be on your best behavior that Sunday.  I don’t want to see any wild partying and wheelie popping on your motorcycles in the parking lot! I’ll have him briefly share about himself at the first two services.
A team from our church will be going on a short-term mission trip to Taiwan in October. Our team last year was very valuable in the strategic outreach of the missionary we visited, and he requested us to send another team this year.  Our 16-member team will be a strategic mixture of some veterans from last year and some new folks who were asked to go this year.  Please be in prayer for God to prepare each team member and each person we will interact with in Taiwan.
Each team member has at least $700 more of support to raise so if you would like to contribute to this mission of our church please write a check to Hope Fellowship and put “Taiwan mission” in the memo. (Due to IRS rules a person’s name can’t be in the memo).
Are you willing to be on a mow team rotation this summer?  Text or email Michael Millage if you would like to be on a rotation: 425-999-5172 or millage.michael@yahoo.com.
I was informed that we have enough empty water bottles for the Kidz Adventure Camp.  Thanks to all who took the time to bring them.
