Hey Hope people!
During my junior high years, I lived in San Diego where a bunch of us would walk to school together taking shortcuts through business fences, across the overpass of a major freeway and through neighborhoods. There were various stupid things we did on the way to school but one of the most stupid was grabbing a box of neon light bulbs out of a dumpster, carrying them onto the overpass and…..you guessed it. What were we thinking, you may ask? The answer is simple…..we weren’t. Many people live the same way, wandering through life simply bumping from interesting experience to interesting experience without considering why they’re doing the many things they do. As believers we’re told to think through our actions soberly; “Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”” (1 Peter 1:14-16)
We’re called to think through what life is about and make life decisions based on our higher purpose, to be just like our Lord in all we do and represent Him well. From now on, I dispose of light bulbs properly….

PROFESSIONAL COMEDIAN – Volunteer Banquet
Have you been serving on a regular basis here at Hope? If so, how could you forget the Volunteer Banquet last year? The food was great, and the comedian had me snort-laughing a couple of times! On May 7th we’re flying another comedian in and serving up some catered fajitas…. and I want you there! Indeed, you’re going to want to be there! Maybe you’ve heard the voice of God whispering for you to commit to serving Him and you’ve been resisting. Contact Jeff soon to find a great place to volunteer here, it’s through people who know how to commit that Gods work gets done. jeffsmith@hope-fellowship.net. Also, if you’ve committed to regular service here, and you’re planning on attending the banquet, let us know you’ll be there at the following link; https://hopefellowship.breezechms.com/form/69c0bd.
